AEROSYS TTWC-R30P21 - 2.5 Ton - Condenser 36H x 19W
Discontinued. This unit is no longer manufactured.
Replaced by our 36" W x 19" H 2.5 Ton R-454B thru-wall condenser.
Aerosys has permanently closed and this unit is discontinued. The TTWC-R30P21 is no longer manufactured, and no manufacturer builds a replacement for the 36" x 19" P Series opening. We have ours custom fabricated to fit the same sleeve, charged with R-454B instead of the phased-out R-410A. Lead time is 14 to 21 days, built to order. See the Aerosys replacement cross-reference for the full model-by-model list.
About this unit (for identification)
At 2.5 tons and 30,000 BTU, the Aerosys TTWC-R30P21 is the largest standard-line through-wall condenser in the Aerosys catalog -- and it's the unit specified when you've got a big space to cool through a standard NYC wall sleeve. We're talking large one-bedrooms and two-bedrooms with open layouts between 1,000 and 1,400 square feet, corner apartments with extra window exposure, or situations where one condenser needs to feed multiple air handlers in a zoned setup.
This is the standard version of the 2.5-ton TTWC. The LX Series variant (R30P21LX) was also built with commercial-grade internal components, and at this tonnage, the choice between standard and LX is worth thinking through carefully. A 2.5-ton compressor works harder than a smaller unit by definition -- more refrigerant flow, more heat rejection, more mechanical stress on the contactors and fan motor. If this condenser is going into a high-use application (think: a large apartment with lots of glass that runs AC from April to November), the LX's heavier-duty components will pay for themselves in longer service intervals. For more typical seasonal use, the standard R30P21 is a reliable machine at a lower price when both were in production.
The TTWC-R30P21 fits the same 36" W x 19" H wall sleeve as the 1.5 and 2.0-ton Aerosys models. That's by design -- Aerosys built the entire TTWC line around the standard NYC sleeve dimension so you can size the system to the space without touching the building envelope. No sleeve modifications, no structural concerns, no co-op board approval headaches beyond the normal alteration agreement. It's a split system condenser, so you will need a matched indoor air handler. Check our PTAC vs. through-wall guide if you want to understand why the split approach beats a packaged unit, especially at higher tonnages where noise and efficiency gaps widen.
Electrical: 208-230V/60Hz/1Ph, R-410A refrigerant. Fits standard NYC wall sleeves. Made in the USA. Before committing to 2.5 tons, make sure you actually need it -- oversizing causes short-cycling, poor humidity control, and higher energy bills. Our through-wall sizing guide will help you confirm the right capacity for your specific apartment.
