About NYC Custom HVAC

25+ Years Building for New York City

We started in NYC, we know NYC buildings, and we've served NYC contractors for over 25 years. Every unit we sell is matched to the specific demands of this city.

Our Story

Founded in NYC.
Built for NYC Buildings.

NYC Custom HVAC was founded on a straightforward observation: New York City buildings have HVAC requirements that the rest of the country doesn't. Prewar co-ops were built with 36"x19" wall sleeves that standard equipment won't fit. Brownstones can't run traditional ductwork without gutting the walls. Board noise restrictions rule out half the condensers on the market.

We built this company to solve those problems. Over 25 years of growth, we've become the go-to source for HVAC contractors, builders, and property managers who need equipment that actually works in New York City's built environment — not equipment that almost fits.

Our team of industry veterans and skilled technicians brings decades of combined experience to every project. We've specified and supplied equipment for everything from single co-op units to 20-room high-velocity systems spanning entire brownstones.

Our Expertise

Specialists in 36x19 Thru-Wall Units
and High-Velocity Systems

In a city where every square foot matters and noise ordinances are real, through-the-wall HVAC is the dominant technology. The 36"x19" sleeve has been the NYC standard since the mid-century building boom. Our expertise in these units goes beyond stocking inventory — we understand the sleeve tolerances, the electrical requirements, and the compatibility matrix for replacing one brand with another.

Our high-velocity systems solve a different NYC problem: older buildings without room for traditional ductwork. SpeedFlex systems distribute air through 2" flexible tubing that runs through existing wall cavities — so contractors can retrofit whole-building comfort without tearing out historic plaster walls.

When you call us with a model number and a sleeve measurement, you get an answer — not a callback in three days. That's the difference 25+ years of NYC-specific focus makes.

2–3 Week Lead Times

National distributors take months. We build and ship in 2–3 weeks — so your project stays on schedule, not theirs.

NYC-Specific Expertise

We understand NYC building constraints: 36x19 sleeve dimensions, noise regulations, building board requirements, and co-op approval processes.

Local NYC Support

We answer the phone. When you have a technical question or an urgent specification need, you reach someone who knows NYC buildings.

Our Team

Industry Veterans, NYC Specialists

Our team is made up of industry veterans who have spent their careers in the NYC HVAC market. We know which manufacturers actually deliver on time, which units fit NYC noise regulations, and which configurations work in pre-1950 buildings without rewiring the entire electrical panel.

When you send us a floor plan, you get a response from someone who has read hundreds of NYC floor plans. When you ask about compatibility, you get an answer grounded in 25+ years of installation experience — not a manufacturer spec sheet.
