AEROSYS TTWC-R24P21 -2.0 Ton - Condenser - 36H x 19W

Discontinued. This unit is no longer manufactured.

Replaced by our 36" W x 19" H 2.0 Ton R-454B thru-wall condenser.

Aerosys has permanently closed and this unit is discontinued. The TTWC-R24P21 is no longer manufactured, and no manufacturer builds a replacement for the 36" x 19" P Series opening. We have ours custom fabricated to fit the same sleeve, charged with R-454B instead of the phased-out R-410A. Lead time is 14 to 21 days, built to order. See the Aerosys replacement cross-reference for the full model-by-model list.

About this unit (for identification)

Most NYC apartments need a 2.0-ton condenser for the main living area, and the Aerosys TTWC-R24P21 is the standard-line unit that gets the job done without overcomplicating things. At 24,000 BTU, it's sized right for living rooms, large bedrooms, and combined spaces between 700 and 1,000 square feet -- which covers a huge percentage of the primary rooms in New York co-ops and condos.

The R24P21 is Aerosys's standard through-wall condenser at this tonnage. It shares the same chassis and compressor platform as the LX Series model (the R24P21LX), but uses standard-duty contactors and fan motor components. That's not a knock on the unit -- these are proven parts that hold up well in normal residential use. The question is really about how hard the unit will work. In a building lobby or a south-facing penthouse living room that runs AC ten months a year, you probably want the LX. For a typical apartment living room with reasonable summer use, the standard model is the smart buy at a lower price.

Like all Aerosys TTWC condensers, this is one half of a through-wall split system. The condenser goes in your existing 36" W x 19" H wall sleeve on the building exterior, and a separate indoor air handler mounts on the apartment side. You connect the two with refrigerant lines through the wall. The advantage over a PTAC is real -- better cooling performance, dramatically less noise inside the apartment, and a longer equipment lifespan because the components aren't crammed into one overheated box. We've written up the full comparison in our PTAC vs. through-wall guide if your building is evaluating options.

For the install: 208-230V/60Hz/1Ph, R-410A refrigerant, fits the standard 36" x 19" NYC wall sleeve with no modifications needed. Made in the USA. If you're planning a bulk replacement for multiple units in a building, give us a call -- we can help you figure out which apartments need 1.5 versus 2.0 tons based on layout and exposure. Or start with our through-wall sizing guide for a quick self-assessment.
